Kilothought: The Grand Millenium

If you could spot the painstakingly-difficult-to-come-up-with trio of hidden numbers in this blog title, then a thousand points to you and a virtual up-top! If not, never mind. You'll be forgiven, eventually.
So anyway, this is a much delayed blog entry on a whole range of topics, running the entire gamut from the 2012 London Olympics to my 1024th PageView on Tales From The Platypus. Nudge, nudge, time to raucously applaud!

Personal logs first. I've had a largely competitive last few weeks, having leapt into the foray of debates, quizzes, crosswords and online inter-DPS events. And well, at least some of them have been successful. I don't really know what to say about them: their results have gone from mostly dismal to near exemplary. I guess the average of the two is the only diplomatic way out, so combined they were all just 'mildly satisfying'. Moving on.

1024+ PageViews! <insert large never ending waves of applause here (I can dream can't I?)> It's good to know that somebody reads what I write, even if they do so reluctantly, with skeptical looks, bored open-mouthed expressions and fingers itching to press the delete button in their email inboxes, all the while wondering how or why they subscribed in the first place. To all of you, a large bow and gracious thanks. Yes, if you are still reading this, you do deserve it.
I recently saw The Dark Knight Rises, and it was undoubtedly one of the most amazingly epic, superbly thrilling, succinctly humorous, visually impactful and 'oh-my-god' awesome movies I've seen in a long long time. Clearly, I've been waiting to say that for a long time. Kudos to you Christopher Nolan. That was some seriously classy work.
The Olympics are finally underway and for some reason, when I saw the multi-coloured rings swing down atop the Tower of London, the LOTR theme song played in my head. Confusing, yet amusingly suitable. Real 'ent'-ertainment. Anyway, exams coming up, so time to adjourn my writing and fix up with my books: hooray. Sarcasm? Try to figure it out!
