A Fortuitous Sublimation of Concern

The last few months have been a whirlwind of confusion, but now, finally, all that's left to do is make the most of this summer. And clearly, thanks to the joyous absence of other things to do, an outrageous whoop and cheer show that I can't just wait to begin!

So obviously, what comes first in this summer cocktail of joy is music. Perhaps the best is that uncontrollable tingle of excitement when we know that there hundreds of songs out there just waiting to merge into us once again. 'Back in the summer of '12'! An immensely pleasing sigh of relief as you collapse, arms spread wide, into the soft and overwhelming realm of music once again. 'Oh I would walk 500 miles, and I walk would 500 more!' This elated feeling thrives on, immutable and impossible to drown out. Music is the panacea of the modern age: it cures everything it is pitted against. 'I want to feel like I'm somewhere I belong!'

And then it hits you - there's no end to it. This heartfelt appreciation of music can continue on incessantly, simply because there isn't anything more compelling waiting to usurp its throne of importance. Music is right there on the top of your list, and upon closer inspection, it will inevitably turn out to be the only thing of real importance and substance there. It's mind-blowing; it's amazing; it's the best revelation of the year.

So that's the first sip of the delicious nectar of summer happiness. But like with most culinary delights, there's more to a dish than just cosmetic appearance and first taste, and this seasonal masterpiece is no exception. There is more than just the melodic froth, there is the literary pang of taste, the subtle hint of cloying movies, the slight influence of droplets of excursions and the evident theme of vacation-like frivolity.

This summer promises to be one to fondly remember in the future. After what seems like eons, an experience which finally hints at nothing but a desire-led journey comes to light. With new movies like Prometheus striding into cinemas, new TV Shows like Masterchef Australia or Castle strolling around for repeated applause and new activities like blogging and iPhone tweaking dominating conscious thought, the month may pass by altogether far too swiftly. The only enemy left to vanquish is that accursed holiday homework with seems to relentlessly pursue one to wherever he or she may try to flee. So, to work. Plug your headphones in, switch that TV on, 'accidentally' plonk down on sheets of holiday homework, and kick back and smile. 'Party rock is in the house tonight!'
